Six-Quart Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R. JONES / PITTSTON, PA.", circa 1875, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, handle at base on reverse, and applied clay ears with wood-and-wire bail handle. Decorated on the front with a large brushed wreath design. Reverse with Evan R. Jones maker's mark. Includes contemporary, hand-made lid and spout cover produced from old painted tin. Very nice condition with a large flake to handle at base, a small rim chip, and a 2" hairline from rim.
