Scarce Glazed Redware Octagonal Pitcher, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1850-1880, molded pitcher with eight paneled sides, upswept spout, and ornamental handle with thumbrest, the surface decorated with sponged manganese over a yellowish clay ground and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Excellent color and desirable form. Light wear to rim and handle. Base chip. H (to top of handle) 9 1/2".
