Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT.", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a stylized, slip-trailed floral design featuring two blossoms surrounded by leaves and dotted trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A shallow spout chip. A 1 1/2" in-the-firing salt drip to base on reverse.
