Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Head Sculpture, New York State origin, circa 1860-1885, small-sized molded sculpture of a smiling man's head with tilted cap, featuring light cobalt highlights throughout and cobalt spot decoration to collar. A head produced from the same mold is used as the finial of a figural stoneware bank sold in Crocker Farm, Inc.'s July 11, 2009 auction. Restoration to chin. Several small chips to bottom edge. Other light surface wear. H 1 7/8".
