Rare Stoneware Presentation Bank with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Inscribed "L. Schrader. / 1887", attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, 1887, ovoid ban with footed base, carved horizontal slot, and tall finial with tooling at base, decorated with two brushed tulips flanking the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "L. Schrader. / 1887". Foliate brushwork around slot and brushed leaf on reverse. Desirable form. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, which recently surfaced in New Jersey. Loss to finial, possibly a bird. Shallow chipping around slot. H 6 1/2".
