Slip-Decorated Redware Master Salt, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, ovoid form with tooled shoulder resting on a pedestal base, decorated with shorter line designs in copper and cream-colored slip. Additional copper accents to rim area. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased years ago at a Montgomery County, PA auction for the Hillegas family. Excellent condition with minor rim wear. H 3 3/4".
