One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, Manhattan, NY or New York State origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two different incised and cobalt-highlighted floral designs. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a fifty-year private collection. Heavy chipping to base. Otherwise excellent condition. H 9 1/2".
