Scarce Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / NEW-YORK", Manhattan, NY, circa 1820, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and spout, decorated with three cobalt drape motifs surrounding the large-sized maker's mark of Clarkson Crolius, Sr. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Desirable size and strong color. Provenance: Robert Meltzer Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some light staining to surface. H 9 1/4".
