Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND", Madison Woodruff and Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with two brushed tulips connected by a looping stem. Additional looping line decoration below. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Rim chips. Some fry to cobalt. A faint Y-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior.
