One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CHOLLAR, DARBY & CO. / HOMER", New York State origin, circa 1845, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a brushed design of a tulip with curved stem. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Provenance: Property of a New York State collector. A rough in-the-firing contact mark to base and a small, glazed-over base chip. A 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark to front. A minuscule spout nick and glazed-over spout nick.
