Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Pitcher, Stamped "B.B. CRAIG / VALE, N.C.", circa 1975, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a hand-modeled and applied clay face, including bulging eyes with eyebrows, large ears, a nose with pierced nostrils, and a mouth with china teeth. Incised details to eyebrows and upper lip, forming the figure's mustache. Surface covered in an olive-green alkaline glaze with rutile streaks to body. Underside impressed with B.B. Craig maker's mark. Mint condition. H 7 1/8".
