Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Impressed Floral Decoration, attributed to Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, late 18th century, highly-ovoid jar with open loop handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, decorated on the front and reverse with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted flower. Heavy in-the-firing chipping to base, including a short line extending off of one chip. A sealed, thin 5 3/4" cross-shaped crack from rim. Two in-the-firing contact marks to one side.
