Two-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with ribbed handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, decorated on the front and reverse with two large brushed tulips. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy line of cobalt underneath each handle. A thin 4" crack and 1" crack from rim on one side. Staining throughout. A 3/4" contact mark at base on one side.
