Two One-Gallon Stoneware Jars, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1815-1850, an ovoid jar with lightly-incised design of a man's head at the shoulder, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1815; paired with a one-gallon jar, inscribed "one" with spotted cobalt looping line motif, stamped "WM E. WARNER / WEST TROY", New York State origin, circa 1850. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a long-term private collection. Incised jar with heavy base chips, small rim chips, a 3" crack from rim on reverse, and short line to rim on front. Warner jar with a 7" crack from rim on reverse, a 7/8" chip to one handle, and a small chip to opposite handle.
