Scarce Stoneware Beer Bottle, Stamped "R. BEER / COLE & CO. / BOSTON", Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1845, cylindrical bottle with tapered neck and rounded mouth, impressed with the large cobalt-highlighted advertising "BOSTON / R. BEER". Additionally impressed with the merchant name, "COLE & CO.", on one side. Property of a New York State collector. A crack extending from neck to base. A chip to exterior of spout and some wear to interior of spout. A 7/8" base chip. Light wear to shoulder. H 10".
