Auction Highlight: July 22, 2017 Auction | Baltimore Stoneware
Very Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Flask, Inscribed "pint," probably Henry Remmey, Sr., Baltimore, MD, circa 1820, with flattened sides and flaring spout with semi-rounded mouth, decorated along the edges with a heavy-applied leaf or tassel motif. Decorated with the word "pint" in cobalt script on front. Color and decoration are consistent with Baltimore stoneware produced by Henry Remmey, Sr. For a wine cooler with similar decoration and inscription "Wine," see Ceramics in America 2004, p. 148.
