Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Deer Head Decoration, Stamped "F.T. WRIGHT & SON. / STONE WARE / TAUNTON, MASS.", circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled cobalt design of a deer head with antlers. Provenance: David Musser Collection. A 1 1/8" restored rim chip, which has started to lift from the rim. Two small restored chips to one handle and a small, unrestored chip to same handle handle, which occurred in the firing. A chip to opposite handle.
