Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S., second half 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical crock with cobalt floral decoration on the front and reverse, featuring the unusual impressed and cobalt-highlighted initials, "H.K.", attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA; paired with a two-gallon crock with cobalt tulip decoration on front and reverse, Northeastern U.S. origin. Remmey crock with a 3 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, in-the-firing dryness to reverse, two rim chips, minor chipping to shoulder molding, a 2 1/4" line at base continuing 2" onto underside, a minor handle chip, and some sticky residue to surface. Other crock in excellent, essentially as-made condition with some light staining, a minor glazed-over chip to rim, and a glazed-over dent to base.
