Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT.", circa 1855, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a boldly slip-trailed design of a basket brimming with a large floral design accented with dotted trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with some very minor base chips and a minor in-the-firing contact mark near base on front.
