Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JULIUS NORTON, / BENNINGTON VT", circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed design of a tulip bud. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A faint 4 1/2" line to shoulder area on front. Shallow chipping to spout. Some light staining to surface.
