Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG . PA", circa 1865, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed flowering plant motif consisting of a central daisy blossom composed of seven circular strokes, flanked by two buds. Cobalt highlights to capacity mark and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a small in-the-firing contact mark to front, a small iron ping near base on side of jug, and some minor base chips.
