One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two tulip buds emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and three cobalt daubs underneath each handle. A small chip to underside at edge. Two chips to one handle. A small chip to top of rim. A 7" diagonal crack extending up from base. An in-the-firing lime ping to shoulder.
