Glazed Redware Sugar Bowl with Twisted Rope Handles, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, ovoid bowl with tooled banding and twisted handles resembling rope, embellished with impressed cross-hatching at the terminals. Surface decorated with streaks of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Incised "14" along with the number "13" or a script "B" on underside. Crack in underside, extending up side of jar under one handle. A tight crack in one handle terminal. A loss to edge of one terminal on opposite handle. Wear to rim, handles, and central tooled banding. H 5".
