Four-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a two-stemmed clover plant. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a curved line of cobalt underneath each handle. Desirable large size. A 1 1/2" rim chip above one handle. A thin, 3 3/4" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim. Water glass residue to interior.
