Shenandoah Valley Glazed Redware Bean Pot, Stamped "J. EBERLY & CO. / STRASBURG, VA", late 19th century, semi-ovoid pot with applied handle, the exterior covered in a lead-and-manganese glaze, the interior covered in a lead glaze over yellow slip. Shoulder impressed with J. Eberly & Co. maker's mark beside a one-and-a-half-gallon capacity mark. Includes lead-and-manganese glazed lid. Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, VA. Heavy wear to rim. Minor base wear. Some whitish residue to surface, possibly water glass. Chips and wear to lid. H (excluding lid) 8 3/4".
