Very Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Impressed Fish Decoration, Stamped "A. STANDISH / TAUNTON / MASS", mid 19th century, squat-shaped, ovoid pitcher with flared collar, decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a stylized fish above the cobalt-highlighted maker's mark of Taunton, Massachusetts potter, Alexander Standish. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Rare maker's mark with desirable form, size, and decoration. Rim and spout chips. Wear to bottom edge. H 11 3/4".
