Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER. N.Y.", circa 1885, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a large wreath with bow at base, surrounding the number "5". Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Includes wooden dasher. Significant restoration to surface. This restoration does not affect the cobalt, except for areas of the bow.
