Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & Co / ROCHESTER N.Y", circa 1850, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of a daisy plant featuring a large central blossom and buds. Heavy shaded accents throughout. Slip-trailed "3." above. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Strong decoration with exceptional color. Excellent condition with a minor 1 1/4" surface line to right of handle, possibly in the firing, and a very faint glaze line in spout.
