Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD . CONN", circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large, folky design of a spotted bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: David Musser Collection. As-made condition with large and small in-the-firing chips to bottom edge, the longest measuring 2 3/8".
