One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with "Macy & Co." New York City Advertising, attributed to William Macquoid, Manhattan, NY, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the brushed cobalt advertising, "Macy & Co: / 6th Av: Cor: 20th St.". Reverse with distinctive floral decoration associated with the William Macquoid shop. Shallow chips to interior of rim. A glazed-over, in-the-firing iron ping to front near base. A chip to one handle. Two small in-the-firing iron pings to reverse.
