One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock with New York City Advertising, New York State origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "THOMAS HOPE & CO. / GROCERS / 132 CHAMBERS ST CO COLLEGE PLAC / NEW YORK". Wreath-like cobalt design below. A crack from rim to shoulder, extending from chip on reverse. Some staining to surface.
