Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with an abstract slip-trailed design resembling clouds. A 2 1/2" hairline from rim on side of jar. A 3" hairline on underside, extending 4 3/4" up base on reverse. A chip to rim on front and a tiny nick to rim on reverse. A small, in-the-firing chip to top of rim. Some small base chips.
