Early One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Two Slash Marks, probably Edgefield District, SC origin, circa 1825-1835, ovoid jug with double-collared spout and thin strap handle, the surface covered in a streaky, greenish-gray alkaline glaze over gray clay. Shoulder incised with two slash marks. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 12".
