One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Stamped "P. HERRMANN", Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated on the front and reverse with two large double-stemmed clover designs. Lightly-impressed with Peter Herrmann maker's mark at shoulder. A glazed-over 1" chip on interior of rim. Two other minor chips on interior of rim. A 2 1/2" surface line on interior of rim, not visible on exterior.
