Four Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875, one stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO"; one stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS / GREENSBORO. PA"; one stenciled "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg W.V."; and one with stenciled flourish between two freehand stripes. Smaller James Hamilton jar with significant cracks. Taller James Hamilton jar with chips on interior of rim. Donaghho jar with large in-the-firing chips to edge on underside and a hairline from rim. Unsigned jar with large chip on exterior of rim, heavy chipping to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim, shallow chipping to shoulder molding, and semi-circular hairline to underside. H (of taller jar) 10".
