Possibly Unique Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bow and Arrow Decoration, attributed to the Thompson Pottery, Morgantown, WV, circa 1860-1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed design an arrow with bow, along with two additional arrows below. Impressed with Morgantown capacity mark at shoulder on reverse, brushed over with a large daub of cobalt. Crack on underside, which forms a Y at base on reverse. A few chips to base and bottom edge of rim. Wear to interior of rim.
