Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, probably Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design in the Manhattan style. One side includes heavy detail to the interior of the design. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exfoliation to surface. Cracks to bottom half of jar. Numerous small rim chips. Heavy chipping to base.
