Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER. / NEW-YORK", circa 1820, highly-ovoid jug with rounded spout, decorated with scalloped cobalt brushwork surrounding the maker's mark as well as a cobalt highlight to upper handle terminal. A chip to underside at edge. Some in-the-firing crazing below handle on reverse. A stone ping to lower handle terminal. A 3 1/4" hairline from spout. A 1 1/2" chip to top of spout and other tiny spout nicks.
