Fine and Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Fruit Jar, Stamped "PLUMBS" and "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK", early 19th century, finely-potted, cylindrical jar with footed base and flattened rim, featuring the large impressed and cobalt-highlighted word, "PLUMBS". Reverse with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark of Clarkson Crolius, Sr. Very nice overall condition. Two small rim chips. A faint 1" line from rim. A small base chip. Some faint in-the-firing surface lines to base, not visible on interior. H 8 3/8".
