Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with flared collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Y-shaped crack at base on reverse, connecting to a network of thin cracks on on the underside.
