Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E. & L.P. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Short hairlines to spout on side / reverse. A salt drip to front. Thin spider cracks to side and reverse. Staining to surface.
