Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Impressed Eagle and Swan Decoration, Stamped "GARDINER STONE WARE / MANUFACTORY, / GARDINER, ME", circa 1876-1900, large-sized, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with impressed and cobalt-highlighted designs of two swans below a flying eagle with flag. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Light exfoliation to surface. A 1 1/8" chip to interior of rim beside a 1 1/4" in-the-firing rim chip.
