Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Profuse Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1870, tapered jar with rounded wax sealer rim and tooling to midsection and shoulder, decorated from top to bottom with eight freehand stripes and an undulating vine. Excellent decoration. Very nice condition. Two salt drips to base and a salt drip to underside. A tiny nick to inner wax sealer rim. Some staining. H 9 3/4".
