Unusual One-Gallon New York City Stoneware Druggist's Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, probably English origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with applied lug handles, semi-rounded rim, and coggled shoulder, impressed with the advertising "JACQUES & MARSH / DRUGGISTS / NO 56 PEARL STREET / NEW YORK". Upper portion of jar dipped in a reddish-brown iron-oxide slip. Base chip. A chip and nick to one handle. A nick and minor chip to opposite handle. Numerous small nicks to rim, primarily on interior.
