Glazed Redware Figure of a Lion with Lamb, probably Pennsylvania origin, circa 1850-1880, molded figure of a standing lion with yellow slip eyes and reclining lamb below, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. This figural piece presumably alludes to Biblical passages of Jesus represented as a lion and lamb, or possibly the often-misquoted verse from Isaiah, "the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb". A large flaked area to reverse. Other lesser flakes and wear to surface. A small chip to underside at edge. L 2 1/2" ; H 3 1/4".
