One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "TR", probably Thomas Luther Ritchie, Lincoln County, NC, second half 19th century, ovoid jar with flattened rim and arched handles, the surface covered in a greenish alkaline glaze flecked with iron. Impressed "TR" on top of one handle. Although the maker's mark appears to be in a slightly different font than Ritchie's typical stamp, the form and glaze are consistent with his work. Rim chips, the longest measuring 1 3/8". A small chip and minor wear to one handle.
