One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG . PA", circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed tulip motif. Cobalt highights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Excellent color. Provenance: David Musser Collection. As-made condition with a narrow and shallow 1 1/8" in-the-firing base chip.
