Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "Hamilton & Jones", Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid jar with flattened rim, the front nicely-decorated with freehand stripes and vining, the stenciled signature "Hamilton & Jones", and a stenciled number 2 flanked by dashes at the base. A 2 1/2" H-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. A faint, approximately 2 3/4" Y-shaped surface line at base on front, not visible on interior. Some light surface wear and flecks of old white paint.
