Large-Sized Handled Spittoon with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, with concave sides, footed base, carved oval opening at shoulder, and ribbed lug handles, decorated with brushed leaves at the shoulder on the front and reverse. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals, along with cobalt swag decoration under each handle. Exceptional size. Provenance: David Musser Collection. In rarely-found, excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 5 3/4" ; Diameter 9 3/4".
