Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM-A MACQUOID & CO / NEW-YORK / LITTLE WST 12TH ST.", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with flared collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of two tulips emanating from a central stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A thin 3 1/2" crack from rim on side of jar, extending through handle. Two small chips to left handle. A 1 1/4" base chip to reverse along with two other small base chips. Wear to inner rim, where a lid would rest. A hairline to underside.
